Sana, sana, colita de rana (Bilingual edition) by Citlali Reyes

Wow!

For a quick summary, the main character, Tina, is a huge fan of Lucha Libre and aspires to be a wrestler. However, after being unable to wrestle her brother Paco and getting hurt, her brother states that girls aren’t good wrestlers. The pain that Tina felt due to the fall grew even more because of Paco´s comment.

The story highlights several themes that I address with my own kids. Such as building awareness of how negative words and comments can harm others, relationship building through Paco´s efforts in repairing the harm he´s caused his sister, and also emotional regulation through the use of singing a lovely and common refrain.
